Moroccan Mortgage

Two delightful girls in Fez, Morocco list their evening menu:

1. 3 set of Moroccan salads ( Zaalouk with Zuccini, carrots with charmoula, cabbage with dried grapes).
2. Lamb tagine with quince.
3. Milk pastilla with almonds.

The word Morocco is directly derived from the Amazigh (language of the Imazighen people already long established in North Africa in 1000 B.C.) word Mur-Akush meaning Land of God.
The full Arabic name of Morocco, Al-Mamlaka al-Maghribiya, translates to “The Western Kingdom”.
Al Maghrib (meaning “The West”) is often used. Historians used to refer to as Al-Maghrib al Aq?á (”The Farthest West”), to avoid confusion with the region called the Maghreb. Morocco’s capital was originally Marrakech.

With discount airfares from Europe and the promise of an underwater tunnel from Spain, Morocco is preparing for a surge of Foreign visitors and investors. The challenge is to retain and invest in local culture and infrastructure, while benefiting from tourist spending.
