Asilah Morocco

Written by Best on Saturday, August 11th, 2007 in Uncategorized.

Friends have bought property in Asilah, both in the old town and in a resort

Asilah is located 42 km southeast of Tangier on the Atlantic coast. The town is enclosed by defensive walls that were erected in the 15th century. There are extensive beaches and a natural harbor on the northwest side of the town.

There are beach resorts to the north of Asilah  The coastal area is in the Mediterranean climate zone bringing mild wet winters and dry warm summers, though there is more rainfall than in other Mediterranean areas.

Morocco Property Viewing Trips

Written by Best on Thursday, August 9th, 2007 in real estate in morocco.

We decided to look for ourselves, rather than take a morocco property viewing trip, though we may do this in future. As we were already in Spain (costa del sol) it took just an hours drive on the excellent highway to reach Tarifa. Booking was straightforward and boats leave many times a day.

Tangiers

We spent 3 days in Tangiers, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
It is surprisingly undeveloped for a large city. Markets (Souks) are terrific, and the views are spectacular.

I’ll post some Tangier photos shortly, then proceed with property advice.

Morocco from Spain

Written by Best on Monday, August 6th, 2007 in Morocco Travel.

We travelled on the excellent hydrofoil from Tarifa in Spain.
There is free parking next to the port, but drop your bags at he port first, or be prepared with a baggage trolley.

ferry moroccoThe journey took longer than the quoted 35 minutes, and we didn’t see any dolphins.

A very comfortable ride with refreshment bars. NOTE: Your passport must be processed on board. There is little announcement or notice regarding this, and each trip causes delays to the passengers who have neglected to do this.
